What makes a good WebQuest?
A good WebQuest is fun. It engages the students in higher level thinking. It also does not waste time. It integrates the use of technology.
My unit is banned books.
My essential question is still being figured out, but I will update this as soon as I figure it out.
My questions are:
1. Why do books get banned?
2. What is "censorship"?
3. Who has the right to decide what I should be able to read?
4. What does the 1st amendment say about all this?
5. My student role #1 is researcher A.
6. My student role #2 is a reporter.
7. My student role #3 is researcher B.
8. My student role #4 is a spokesperson.
9. Role #1 will produce research why the book should be banned and reports findings to the group.
10. Role #2 will record all the information given.
11. Role #3 will produce research as to why the book is helpful to a student’s learning and should not be banned. They will report findings to group.
12. Role #4 will present information to the class (school board) of the group’s findings.
13. The group product is a presentation to the class of their findings.
